The Yes and the No
1. Yes!
Motivation is something we all have, whether we know it or not. We all want to do things differently, to be different than what we were before. In order to change our behavior, we need to understand how motivation works. When we think about motivation, we often think about external factors, like rewards and punishments. But, motivation doesn't always work that way. Sometimes, we just feel motivated to do something without any reward at all.
2. No!
We often hear people say they don't have motivation to do certain things. But, if you really look closely, you'll find that they're doing those things anyway. If someone says they don't have motivation, they probably aren't doing them. So, motivation isn't something you learn; it's something you already have.
3. Yes!
If you've ever tried to motivate someone else, then you know that motivation is contagious. You can teach someone to be motivated to do something, even if they didn't start out that way. And, once someone starts being motivated, they tend to keep being motivated.
4. No!
People who lack motivation are often unmotivated because their brains are wired differently. There are some brain disorders that cause people to lack motivation. These disorders can make it difficult for people to get motivated.
5. Yes!
You can train yourself to become more motivated. Just like anything else, motivation takes practice. You can use techniques like visualization, goal setting, and self-talk to help you stay motivated.
Get motivated today by following these simple steps!
1. Find something that motivates you.
Motivation comes in many forms. You may find yourself motivated by a goal, a person, a place, or even a hobby. Whatever it is, make sure it's something that makes you feel good about yourself. If you're not feeling good about yourself, then how do you expect to motivate others?
2. Write down what you want to accomplish.
Write down everything you want to achieve. Make a list of goals and write them down. Don't think about whether they're realistic or not; just write them down. When you have written down your goals, put them somewhere where you'll see them often.
3. Set a deadline.
Set a date for when you want to complete your goals. Give yourself a time limit to work towards your goal. If you don't set a deadline, you won't be able to tell if you've accomplished anything at all.
4. Reward yourself.
Reward yourself when you reach milestones along the way. A reward doesn't need to be expensive. Maybe you could treat yourself to a nice meal out, or take a day off from work.
5. Keep going.
Don't give up! Even if you fail, keep trying until you succeed. There's always tomorrow.
